About
A member of the muskmelon family, honeydew was prized by ancient Egyptians thousands of years ago. Honey-sweet with very tender flesh when completely ripe.
Varieties
Green-Flesh
The slightly oval honeydew is distinguished by a smooth, creamy-yellow rind and pale green flesh that is extraordinarily juicy and sweet.
Orange-Flesh
The color, taste and texture of the flesh resembles cantaloupe more than honeydew. When the melon is ripe, the rind turns from white to light salmon pink.
