Nectarines

nectarine

About
Derived from the Greek "nekter," meaning sweet liquid. A nectarine is a fruit all its own, not a cross between a peach and a plum, or a fuzzless peach. Nectarine, like other stone fruits, including peaches, cherries and apricots, is a member of the rose family.
Flavor is similar, but richer than a peach.

Availability
Nectarines are available all summer, reaching their peak in July and August.
