About
Oregano is a spicy, Mediterranean, perennial herb, particularly common in Greek and Italian cuisines. It is the leaves that are used in cooking, and the dried herb is often more flavourful than the fresh. Oregano (also called: Greek oregano, wild marjoram) is a member of the mint family Lamiaceae. It means "Joy of the Mountains".
Aromatic, robust flavor and slightly bitter; use sparingly. Popular in Mediterranean countries. It is often used in tomato sauce and on pizza. Also good in stews and sprinkled over fish and poultry.
