The Vidalia, nicknamed the Sweetie, gets its flavor from the sandy, low sulfur soil and temperate climate found in southeast Georgias designated "Vidalia Onion Country". Served raw, the Vidalia is very sweet, crisp and juicy with just a hint of heat.
Availability
End of April through the beginning of July. Depending on the crop, the season could extend to September.
